Federal Health Program (IFHP). We are a compassionate, multilingual clinic located in downtown Toronto, fully
registered with Medavie Blue Cross, and committed to providing high-quality care for newcomers to Canada
The IFHP provides temporary health coverage — including dental services — to:
• Protected Persons
• Refugee Claimants
• Government-Assisted Refugees
• Privately Sponsored Refugees
• Victims of Human Trafficking and Torture
The IFHP covers only emergency and urgent dental care to relieve pain, treat infections, and stabilize oral health. The following services are typically covered:

Am I Eligible for IFHP dental coverage?
You may be eligible if:

You’ve claimed refugee status in Canada OR

You are a resettled refugee OR

You are a protected person, including government- or privately-sponsored refugees

Schedule you promptly for emergency care

If you have had oral-facial trauma, significant dental infection, prolonged bleeding of the mouth area or tooth pain which cannot be managed by over-the-counter medications, then you are having a dental emergency and should seek help from a dentist.
IFHP dental coverage services, post emergency exams and radiographs, are limited to emergency relief of dental pain, infection or trauma only. Routine dental care is not eligible.
